Calc2Learn Privacy Policy

Calc2Learn is a playful calculator that turns final answers into curiosity facts based on topics you choose. This policy explains what information the app sends to our servers, why it is needed, and how it is handled.

Information We Process

When you ask for a fun fact, the app sends the following information to the Calc2Learn backend:

• Calculation content: the expression you entered, the result, and extra result context such as whether the result is a fraction or decimal.
• Selected interests and language: topics such as History, Science, Food, or a custom topic you add, plus the language used for fact generation.
• Anonymous install identifier: a random identifier generated on your device and used for rate limiting, abuse prevention, and avoiding repeated facts. It is not an account and is not used for advertising or tracking.
• Technical request data: standard server data such as IP address, request time, and basic error information needed to operate and protect the service.

Information Stored On Your Device

The app stores your selected interests, language preference, recent calculations, locally cached facts, seen fact IDs, and the anonymous install identifier on your device so the app can feel fast and avoid showing the same fact repeatedly.

How We Use Information

We use this information only to:

• calculate and return curiosity facts for your results;
• personalize facts using your selected topics and language;
• cache facts to improve speed and reduce AI generation cost;
• rate-limit requests and protect the service from abuse;
• debug reliability and server errors.

AI Processing

Calc2Learn uses a backend service to call an AI provider, currently DeepSeek, for some fact generation. We do not put the DeepSeek API key in the mobile app. The backend may send the calculation result, expression, selected topics, language, and source candidates to the AI provider so it can generate a short fact. Do not enter information you consider sensitive into the calculator or custom topic field.

Sharing

If you tap Share, the app creates an image of the current result and fact on your device and opens the iOS share sheet. What happens after that depends on the app or service you choose in the share sheet.

Tracking and Advertising

Calc2Learn does not use your information for advertising, does not sell your information, and does not track you across apps or websites.

Retention

Local app data remains on your device until you delete it, clear the app data, or uninstall the app. Server-side fact caches, rate-limit counters, and budget counters are temporary operational data. We keep them only as long as needed to operate, protect, and improve the service.

Children

Calc2Learn is intended for a general audience and is not designed to collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.

Your Choices

You can change interests and language in the app menu. You can remove locally stored app data by deleting the app from your device. If you contact us about privacy, include enough context for us to understand your request; we do not maintain user accounts.
